AMTRAK OPERATIONS on Conrail consisted of the following trains/routes: Nos.48 and 49 The Lakeshore Limited Poughkeepsie
to Chicago (Poughkeepsie to New York Penn was on Metro North and Amtrak's own trackage), Nos.448 and 449, Boston-Albany section
of the Lakeshore Limited. Trains 40 and 41, The Broadway Limited operated between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh on Conrail, thence
B&O from Pittsburgh to Chicago in its final years. The Capitol Limited operated over Conrail from Pittsburgh to Chicago
via Cleveland,Toledo, Elkhart, its present route. Trains 43 and 44 The Pennsylvanian, operated over Conrail between Pittsburgh
and Harrisburg. Other Amtrak service on Conrail included the Michigan service trains, except the Pere Marquette which was
and is over ex C&O trackage. These trains included The Wolverine, The Twilight, The Lake Cities, and the International
between Chicago and Battle Creek, at which the train entered and left Grand Trunk Western trackage. Prior to 1983, the commuter
operations operated by Conrail for local authorities consisted of the following services:
